Roderick Turnbull. Maple Hill Stories. Kansas City: Good used hard cover without it's dust jacket. Very good hard cover with very little wear. Pages Seller Rating: % positive.   This weekend, I was looking through the books on my bookshelf and came across "Maple Hill Stories" and "More Maple Hill Stories," two books written about the history of Maple Hill, Kansas by Roderick Turnbull. I checked online and there are several copies available from Amazon and other bookstores.

Its colorful past includes stories of an Antebellum Plantation, use as a Civil War Confederate Encampment and Union Field Hospital after the Battle of Perryville, Birthplace and Childhood Home to Phil Simms – former NY Giants Quarterback and Super Bowl XXI’s MVP, a popular Dinner Hall, and a Foster Children’s Home to over children.   Miracles on Maple Hill is a book that I found to preach too much. The theme of the healing and restorative powers of nature is a truth I wholeheartedly embrace. My own life experience shows me it is true, but in Miracles on Maple Hill that theme is presented so directly that it feels trite and maybe even cheesy rather than inspiring.(You can read my full review of .
